HEC Paris eyes expansion with the appointment of its new Executive Director for Partnerships & Growth
Joshua Kobb to spearhead local and regional expansion of HEC Paris’ executive education activities to meet “fundamental shift” in management education

Taking up his new role as HEC Paris in Qatar enters its second decade of operations, Joshua Kobb says he will focus “on expanding and adapting the organisation’s executive education activities locally and throughout the region to meet the changing needs for management education. The sector is undergoing a fundamental shift in how it serves the market and its clients, where extended partnerships and new delivery models must drive impact and ultimate value in addressing today’s pressing global challenges. Today, more than ever, investing in learning and development is the key to individual and corporate success.”

A seasoned global executive dedicated to international education, talent and leader development, Joshua Kobb has significant experience in business development, international strategy, corporate learning and delivering growth. Throughout a career in higher education spanning over three decades, he has served prestigious academic institutions across the USA, Middle East, Far East and Europe. “I look forward to helping expand the portfolio of programs and the corporate client base both in Qatar and in the region as part of our mission to deliver impact. HEC Paris has an incredibly strong brand, a legacy of excellence and faculty resources that are second to none, bringing a strong commitment to Qatar and the National Vision”, he goes on to say.

His new role sees him return to HEC Paris, where he previously drove the international expansion of the business school during a 15-year term, including three years in Qatar where he served as Acting Chief Operating Officer during the initial start-up phase of HEC Paris in Qatar. He now returns to Qatar from China’s Zhejiang University International Business School, where he developed the school’s global strategy as Vice-Dean.

“Joshua is a welcome return to HEC Paris in Qatar and we are happy to have him with us.  He brings an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to creating value for multiple stakeholders, including participants, faculty, alumni, corporate clients, and government organizations,” said Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean, HEC Paris in Qatar. “His creativity, passion, and ability to collaborate across the organization will be leveraged to widen our local and regional footprint, and he will play a central role in the implementation of HEC´s strategy of impact and excellence.”

Joshua Kobb holds an MA in International Policy Studies from the Monterey Institute at Middlebury College and a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University. He is joined in Doha by his wife, Dr. Tatjana Kobb, a medical doctor and expert in global public health.
