<p><strong><span><span><span>Professor of Strategy and Leadership at HEC Paris</span></span></span></strong></p>
<p><span><span><span>He has been directing degree, custom, open, and certificate programs for HEC Paris since 2014 and for 25 years overall. He earned four doctorates in international strategy, psychology, educational leadership, and philosophy exploring what wisdom means in today’s complex world. He is a graduate of key faculty development programs at Harvard, IESE, EFMD and IMD. Next to designing and delivering executive education seminars worldwide, he advises senior leaders and holds several boards assignments. He held several executive director positions in academia and industry. He published 50+ books for executives and compiled more than 100 case studies for his executive education seminars. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span><span><span>He is certified to administer a number of psychometric tests for strategic leaders. He received a number of research, teaching, book as well as case writing, and academic impact awards along with honorary professorships. Most notably, he won five best course awards at university level and received repeatedly the prestigious CEMS teaching award for best course in top business schools worldwide. Next to his academic initiatives, he founded several ventures. In his free time, he participates in long distance running and Ironman races.</span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin-bottom:11px">Cross-cultural negotiation is a growing necessity in today’s globalized world, extending beyond international deals to encompass diverse styles and subcultures within a single country.</p>
<p>In this session, participants will engage in a live negotiation exercise, introducing universal principles that apply across cultures. Following a debrief, we’ll explore essential do’s and don’ts in cross-cultural negotiation and the nuances of distinguishing local from global rules in dealmaking.</p>

<p><strong>Professor Gonçalo Pacheco de Almeida</strong> is the Dieter Schwarz Foundation Chaired Full Professor of Strategy and Negotiation, the Academic Director of the MBA Strategy Specialization, and the co-Chair of the Strategy and Business Policy Department at HEC Paris.</p>
<p>He is also a member of CNRS-GREGHEC, the French National Research Center and HEC Paris research lab. Professor Pacheco de Almeida received his PhD in Management from INSEAD and holds an MBA in Strategy and Finance and a BA in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics. Prior to HEC Paris, he was an Assistant Professor of Management at the Stern School of Business at New York University (2002-2011), a guest lecturer at Sciences Po (Paris), an instructor at the Nova School of Business and Economics and a strategy and risk management consultant.</p>
<p><br />
Professor Pacheco de Almeida is interested in the areas of strategy dynamics, negotiation, competition, innovation, logic and causation, business and politics, sustainability, and his work has focused on the high tech, energy, and education sectors. His research has been published in the Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, RAND Journal of Economics, Strategy Science, and the Academy of Management Journal. He is an Associate Editor at Management Science and serves on the Editorial Board of the Strategic Management Journal. Professor Pacheco de Almeida teaches Advanced Strategy, Strategy Dynamics, Negotiation, Business Strategy in the PhD, MBA, Executive Education, and Grand Ecole programs. Professor Pacheco de Almeida received the 2013 BNP Paribas Pierre Vernimmen Best Professor at HEC Paris Award and the HEC MBA Classes of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2021, and 2022 Best Professor Awards. In 2016, 2017, and 2020 he was nominated again for the BNP Paribas Pierre Vernimmen Best Professor at HEC Paris Award. In 2018, he was named one of the Favorite Professors of the Best and Brightest MBAs worldwide by Poets & Quants.</p>

<p><strong>Dr. Seungah Sarah Lee<br />
Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Organizations at HEC Paris in Qatar</strong><br />
<br />
She holds a PhD in Organization Studies and International Comparative Education from Stanford University. Prior to joining HEC Paris in Qatar, she was a Visiting Senior Lecturer at New York University Abu Dhabi. Her research centers around the emergence, institutionalization, and adaptation of global narratives, models, and best practices by organizations and the ways such processes influence individuals and society. She explores how nation-states and organizations negotiate the changing demands of a globalized world and adapt models for sustainable development to foster (social) entrepreneurship and innovation in their local contexts. Her most recent projects include studies on how semi-government organizations foster local entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems and how accelerators and incubators adapt global and local narratives and models to cultivate an entrepreneurial culture among youth in the Arab Gulf. Prior to academia, Dr. Lee worked in the Middle East and the US, leading organizational strategy, program design, and impact evaluation for newly established education nonprofits and providing policy research and advisory services.</p>

<p><strong>Dr. Konrad Grabiszewski</strong> is Associate Professor of Economics at HEC Paris in Qatar. Previously, he was a faculty member at ITAM in Mexico, University of Miami in the USA, and MBSC in Saudi Arabia. He also held visiting positions at Keio University in Japan and KAUST in Saudi Arabia. He holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Amsterdam, an MSc in Mathematics from the Courant Institute at New York University, and a PhD in Economics from the Stern School of Business at New York University. </p>
<p>In his research, both theoretical and empirical, Dr. Konrad focuses on understanding how people make decisions in various context. He is an expert in game theory, decision theory, and behavioral economics. He has also tackled questions related to espionage, terrorism, and government regulations. Dr. Konrad is a co-creator of “Blues and Reds,” the first ever mobile experiment in social sciences. His research has been published in multiple outlets like Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Conflict Resolution, or Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.</p>
