HEC Paris in Qatar in association with Takatuf Oman successfully concludes ‘Emerging Leaders Program’ benefiting 23 mid-senior managers from Oman.
Muscat, Oman - 20 October 2020
HEC Paris, ranked #2 worldwide for Executive Education in 2020 and #1 for the International Executive MBA (EMBA) in 2019 by the Financial Times; and Takatuf Oman, the Human Capital solutions provider, have successfully concluded the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) for 23 mid-senior managers and leaders from diverse industries in Oman. The program incorporates Takatuf’s human capital expertise and HEC Paris’ internationally acclaimed management programs, to offer a powerful learning experience to emerging leaders.
Featuring three modules and an Action Learning Project, the ELP has been specially designed to improve the leadership competencies as well as develop new competencies for executives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of an executive’s company.
While the first module ‘Me as a Leader’ analyzed leadership behaviors and how to develop them, the second module ‘Me as a Guide’ scrutinized how teams are managed and integrated to achieve organizational goals. The third module ‘Me as a Builder’ examined how executives can develop the future of organizations through innovation. It further built on the insights of the previous modules and focused on strategic decision making.
The first two modules of the program took place in September and December 2019, respectively. The third module of the program, revised to accommodate online delivery, featured workshops by prominent HEC Paris professors. The online closing ceremony of the program was conducted by Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, and Crispin Garden-Webster, Senior Manager Human Capital Consulting at Takatuf.
Reiterating the high points of HEC Paris and Takatuf’s partnership since its inception in 2016, Dr. Martin de Holan said: “The Emerging Leaders Program is aimed at preparing Oman’s senior leaders to grow themselves and their organizations. We have witnessed the transformational journey of these participants. Learning is changing and growing, and the participants have grown and are ready to continue their journey as managers and leaders in their organizations and in their lives.” He added: “Designed specially to fulfill specific requirements of executives, HEC Paris’ custom-designed program has played a major role in the successful implementation of ELP. We are confident that this learning will have a deeply positive impact on Omani society and enable professionals to excel in their respective fields in an ethical and sustainable way.”
Highlighting the relations between the two institutions, Garden-Webster said: “At Takatuf, we are proud to partner with HEC Paris in Qatar. Our collaboration on the program design and delivery enables us to provide a world-class learning experience for mid-to-senior level managers. After four years, we are happy to have trained numerous leaders to a range of sectors who are at work building the nation.”
Meanwhile, Said Al Asmi, Director of Production at Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) and a 2020 ELP graduate, said: “The learning process needs to be a continuous one, and leaders need to be prepared for all eventualities in order to pave a path for the future. The training that ELP provides for navigating through leadership skills is pivotal. It helps in a better understanding of the business ecosystem and develop useful skills on topics like negotiation and change management.”
HEC Paris’ custom-designed programs were ranked #2 worldwide by the Financial Times in 2020. They are fully customized leadership development programs that enable participants to reflect upon themselves; their organization; their role within their industry; and the position their company occupies on the national and global stage. The programs incorporate blended solutions including case studies, business simulations and bespoke digital portals and are further accentuated by elements like professional and executive coaching, projects tackling real-life challenges, and international study tours, for a lasting transformational impact.
