Doha, Qatar – 23 February 2023: HEC Paris, one of the world’s leading business schools, welcomed the new cohort of almost 40 executives to its Executive MBA (EMBA) Class of 2024. The launch event was recently held at the school’s technology-advanced Doha campus in Msheireb Downtown.
The new EMBA cohort comprises executives from diverse professional backgrounds and industries, across a variety of public and private sector organizations and economic activities including oil & gas, finance, education, technology, government, healthcare, and facilities management, among others. Participants are currently employed at major organizations including Qatar Shell, the National Development Fund, Texas A & M University, Qatar ministries, the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, Google, the Qatar Gas Transport Company Nakilat, Facility Management & Maintenance, or Exxon Mobil Qatar.
The cohort consists of participants from GCC, the Middle East, North and South Africa, the Far East, and Europe. Reflecting Doha’s central position in the GCC, and HEC Paris’s regional reach, more than 40% of the incoming class are residents from outside of Qatar.
Welcoming the new cohort, Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, said: “The vast diversity of the participant’s background and life experiences in this cohort provides a unique opportunity to expand networks, gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities across diverse economic landscapes, and explore operational areas in sectors beyond their own. This often leads to valuable synergies and innovative ideas that may have remained undiscovered otherwise.”
“Over the next 18 months and through practical, yet intense part-time study in Doha, participants will be encouraged to reassess their ideas of business, and to recalibrate their leadership skills to stimulate the innovation needed to navigate today’s economic forces and trends. They will develop critical skills needed for sustainable and ethical business growth,” Dr. Martin de Holan added.
Nayef Sabeh, a recent graduate of the EMBA, felt the program’s ability to challenge the status quo was a game-changer. “I am proud to say that I have gained a new perspective and approach to problem-solving through the diverse group of professionals in the HEC Paris EMBA program. The valuable insights I’ve gained have made me more confident in tackling business strategies and opportunities, allowing me to consider a broader range of perspectives and innovative thinking. This is especially important in today’s rapidly changing economic landscape where alternative thinking is necessary for success.”
Ghada Al-Subaey, with 10 years of experience in international relations and strategy in the field of social work and education expressed excitement about joining the HEC Paris EMBA program in Qatar: “I am thrilled to embark on this transformative Executive MBA journey.
