HEC Paris announces launch of Alumni Qatar Chapter

Doha, Qatar - 17 September 2020: HEC Paris, ranked #2 worldwide for Executive Education in 2020 and #1 for the International Executive MBA (EMBA) in 2019 by the Financial Times, announced the launch of the HEC Alumni Qatar Chapter in an online inaugural event on Thursday. Award-winning scholar and start-up expert Hamad Mubarak Al-Hajri (EMBA 2017) was appointed as the President of the Chapter. He will be supported by Eman Al-Sulaiti (EMBA 2015) as Vice President and Wassim Maksoud (SBUM 2018 C2) as Treasurer.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including HE Franck Gellet, the Ambassador of France to Qatar, and Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar.

Addressing the gathering, HE Gellet said: “I am very pleased to see that a new Chapter has now opened for HEC in Doha with the creation of an alumni network. The economic spheres of France and Qatar are closely tied, and the French Embassy is happy to support the launch of this initiative”.

Meanwhile, Dr. Martin de Holan said: “HEC Paris in Qatar is proud of our Alumni: they are talented women and men who have significant impact in creating better organizations and ultimately, a better world. Our Qatar chapter is the newest addition to our Alumni association, created in 1883 in Paris. They truly deserve this platform to showcase their talent and expertise to the nearly 60,000 HEC Alumni around the world, representing over 150 nationalities.

With over 20 years of experience in international business innovation, artificial intelligence and application development, the Chapter’s President Al-Hajri is a successful tech entrepreneur. Al-Hajri is the co-founder and CEO of Snoonu; co-founder, CEO and product architect of Oryxnet for Services; co-founder of Lilac Landscape; founder of Mieraj Holding Group; co-founder of Mshwar; and co-founder of Ruzstan Restaurant.

With over 60,000 alumni worldwide, in over 120 countries, HEC Paris was ranked as the world’s top alumni network in 2019 by The Economist. The network provides its members with business opportunities and unlimited possibilities to interact with like-minded peers worldwide.
