HEC Paris Women’s Leadership Development Program Customized for Qatar Corporates

Doha, Qatar, October 2022: HEC Paris in Qatar has completed its first five-day custom-designed women’s leadership development program for a major energy industry player, aimed at supporting female participants’ leadership development. Importantly, it equipped them to successfully navigate workplace opportunities, to sensitize their company to pertinent issues such as diversity, equity and inclusion, mental health, flexibility, and the prioritization of career advancement.

The interactive leadership program entitled ‘Stepping Into Opportunity’ was delivered to the inaugural cohort by an expert team led by Associate Professor Dr. Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj - an expert in innovation and workplace diversity and inclusion, supported by an esteemed faculty team which included Professor Anne-Laure Sellier, Professor Sihem Jouini, Professor Konrad Grabszewski, and Professor Anne-Valerie Corboz.

“This is yet another milestone in the development of our curriculum which constantly evolves to encompass all the demands of an ever-changing world and the new circular and digital economies,” said Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar. “The program demonstrates our leadership in impacting the businesses and communities we serve and enables corporate clients to live up to their growing sustainability and regulatory responsibilities and the region’s national vision which looks to build knowledge-based and highly inclusive societies.”

The program is designed around the latest HEC Paris research and knowledge in the field of women in leadership and is contextualized for Qatar. “In this program, we deliver a balance of the latest research on gender leadership, neuroscience and effective leadership for innovation. The program offered participants the opportunity to strengthen their innovative leadership capabilities while also addressing how to navigate barriers that impede the progression of women’s careers.”, explained Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj.

Participants also heard from guest speakers Natalie Yacoubian, General Manager and Head of Territory, BNP Paribas, who reflected on ‘Breaking the Glass Ceiling.’ and Marie-Charlotte Alboussier (sp) SVP of HSEQ at TotalEnergies.
